APC; Are Things Fallen Apart? by Olusegun Ariyo.

For what ever purpose it is, we have chosen to develop politically in Nigeria it must certainly be in the direction of the rule of law since there is the understanding of democratic antecedents we have decided to embrace  In that, equity, transparent must be the  in-thing when it comes to following its due process  that is inline with sincerity of purpose as established in the face of laws of the land essentially in democratic setting with which Nigeria is said to have been operating for about seventeen years and still counting. From the past, the challenging of internal democratic tenancies has been observed to be one of those impediments of political parties in the country putting its integrity to test in the face of many Nigerians. Until recently, the people democratic party had it own share  when its members  decamped en-mass to other parties as result of their inability to curtail those differences that lead to so many of its members living where  they originally belong ,to pitch there tent with  another party.  Some of the reasons cited by many observers   was what is still cropping up in these there new marriage of coming together and forming another party  which many analylist  have  said is capable of ending this emerging political  party  called APC in the same way it did to the people democratic party.

According to Dr isuwa dogo, on channels news recently, he  said one of the reason you are seeing all progressive congress coming out big today is in the fact that it has different parties coming together to form the so called APC. ‘’today we have been able to see the   All Nigerian peoples party , Action Congress of Nigeria, some faction of All progressive grand alliance headed by Gov Okorocha and the congress for progressive change  with some disgruntled members of the peoples democratic party coming together to form the party, in that process,  the cpc had been able to produce the president, whilst the ACN produced the vice presidential position, while other contributors in that marriage  are yet to succeed in the course of these sharing formula. Pointing out that there is no way there won’t be a dagger down in there mist. ''in every governance problem such as this, there is always a political solution to it, and where things of these nature arises and where political solution is not coming, it then means there is more to it'' ‘’how can others whose contribution are imminence during and after the election, and when the need to share power arises, what is next to do is to pull them down? How do you think it will go dawn well with them? these are some of the reason he cited as to whether things are fallen apart, given rise to gradual failure on the part of its leaders which he said could make them fail in their promise to Nigerians and as a party, if care is not taken.

He said, jokingly that the party should rather relinquish power, since from the look of things, it does not understand how governance is all about  and give it back to PDP and apologies to Nigerians.  Also, Mr. ononuju, another  discussant, believe that  the APC  do not truly understand  how to handle power, he said when they are campaigning, they never thought the outcome would favour them and the reason you see them not making head way is as a result. Accordingly, he believes the whole campaign of curbing corruption is selective, arguing that how come in all of those public office holders that declared their assets, how can it be that it is the senate president’s own case would now be the one singled out for interrogation? Citing the case of Ali-Burton, he said today, those that are involved in the case in the united states are cooling off there heads in the prison and that those involved in Nigeria are still working free. According to him,   how come after the president has been briefed of  happening  in the united states, and  back home to his country he has refuse to do something about such high profile  case with glaring evidence? He said it was only natural that the code of conduct bureau is doing the bidding of a particular individual. If not how possible would it be to single out particular individual., let us not forget that the code of conduct remains under the executive and we have the head of the executive and we understand what the law says about who to institute cases of this nature which according to him remains the attorney general and in this case, the president is yet to nominate and at this point in time, how come do we have such case being instituted without not having some one behind it.  Ononuju believes it was a case of being one sided and that which is capable of bringing the APC down. He said, the change mantariah instituted by the party is yet to fulfill his promises to Nigerians and that it would rather be wise to remove  politics  of witch hunting entirely in every corruption charges  and begin with promises it gave to Nigerians which according to him, is what Nigerian would use in judging them.

But in a swift reaction, Babatunde Ogala, an APC stalwart believes Ononuju is speaking from both sides of the mouth, pointing out that what is of importance is whether the accused had committed such offence or not. Ogala's believe  is coining  in   the  fact that  from what ever perspective we  choose to look at it , it was only natural that what was brought against the senate president remains weighty and that it was only wise that he defend him self in what ever perception some of us has chosen to look at it.

He said the former senate president, Adoulphous wabara was arranged in similar manner and heaven did not fall and how come we are quick to pick politics out from issues that is subjudice to judicial interpretation?  when ask if the silence of his party is not indicting, he said you cannot expect the party  hierarchy to do any thing at this time , it will amount to contempt of the court and that the president has said to Nigerians that he was coming all out for  those with corrupt tendencies and even said it in foreign media that even his party members found won-ting wont be spared on any corrupt charges. Although, checks also reveals   that , the senate president, Bukola Saraki , was there-after charged with thirteen count charges, and was said to have gone to high court to challenge the jurisdiction of the code of conduct bureau over its competence to adjudicate on criminal matter through his counsel, Joseph Bodurin SAN, and  where it was  latter quashed , it was also, in the same vein,  gathered that  the appeal court also affirmed the earlier judgment  which set aside the  rulings in the  high court  when an appeal was brought by its counsel  where it initially instituted against the senate president, mandating its counsel to produce  him [Saraki]  as was earlier issued  by the tribunal as warrant of arrest.

Trumpet day online gathered also that the senate president eventually came, and after much heated debate, the tribunal gave its  judgment directing the senate president to  move into the dock and take its plea, vacate its earlier pronouncements which sort to direct the inspector general of police and other security agents to produce him since he saraki had decided to come on his own and there after, was released based on self recognition. With all these melodrama, is all progressive congress not fallen apart? Time will certainly tell.
